New Hampshire Higher Education Loan Corporation (NHHELCO) was designated by the State of New Hampshire in June of 1993 to be a lender and holder exclusively for student loans. NHHELCO grew out of recognition that demand for student loans and a declining number of active lenders created a need for a loan corporation dedicated exclusively to funding education loans. In June 2013, NHHELCO re-entered the private student loan lending market, launching a comprehensive and competitive alternative education loan to students nationwide.
EDvestinU™ reflects the agency's long history of supporting students' postsecondary aspirations. Open to students nationwide, EDvestinU™ is a private student loan which offers zero application fees, competitive rates and safeguards from unnecessary borrowing. Recipients of the EDvestinU™ private student loan have been encouraged to apply for all federal student aid programs for which they are eligible and have demonstrated the capability to manage their loan obligations.
NHHELCO has worked collaboratively with financial aid professionals for decades. The result of this relationship has been extraordinary: nationally-low student loan default rates, best-in-class outreach programs and student-centered financial literacy programs. EDvestinU™ reiterates NHHELCO’s commitment to ensuring students in NH and across the nation have access to the support they need to successfully reach their goals with a knowledgeable and friendly Education Resources team available to assist borrowers with college financing questions and throughout the entire application process as well as provide support to financial aid professionals as they assist their students in finding the best options for funding their education.
Students can also take advantage of additional money management support provided through the Campaign for Financial Education; a series of education materials, webinars and on-site trainings committed to providing education on the importance of keeping a sound financial base.
