Compliance

The NHHEAF Network Organizations' Compliance department's role is to help protect the Federal Family Education Loan Program (FFELP) by providing regulatory guidance to our lending, servicing, and school partners.

The Compliance Department also conducts periodic reviews of our lending partner's loan portfolios that are guaranteed by NHHEAF as required by regulation in 34 CFR 682.410(c).

NHHEAF Ombudsman

The NHHEAF Ombudsman acts from a neutral, independent viewpoint to help borrowers resolve disputes about federal loans guaranteed by NHHEAF.

If you have a dispute about the terms of a federal loan that is guaranteed by NHHEAF, we encourage you to make every effort to resolve it directly with your lender or servicer. If you are unable to resolve the dispute with your lender or servicer, you may contact the NHHEAF Ombudsman. The NHHEAF Ombudsman will work through the issue with you and your lender or servicer, recommend solutions and, where appropriate, ensure that the lender or servicer is following federal regulations.
