College 101: New Guidance Professional
Workshop
In addition to the everyday responsibilities of managing schedules, meetings,
graduation requirements, counseling and advising, guidance counselors are
often expected to be the experts on college admission and financial aid.
With the constantly changing environment of college admission and the complex
language, deadlines and applications involved with the financial aid process,
this task can be overwhelming. Experts in the areas of college admission
and financial aid offer an 'insider's view' to these processes. Topics to
be discussed include the campus visit, the college essay, letters of recommendation,
the college interview, the ABC's of financial aid, and what admissions officers
really look for in an applicant. Counselors will receive free materials and
resources to help guide families through the college process.
- This free workshop will be held at the NHHEAF Network facility in Concord.
- Lunch will be provided.
- Dress is casual.
